Pumpkin patch and Halloween

I know, I know... Two posts in one week, or one month for that matter!

So we did the traditional pumpkin patch which was a lot of fun and everything was free, BONUS! There was a pumpkin carving contest, games, pumpkins and free krispie kreme donuts. In case you weren't sure... I LOVE everything about the fall in Utah, even the way it smells outside, so BEAUTIFUL!

This year Halloween didn't really feel like Halloween. All the events leading up to it were awesome! But Halloween night was a little bit of a let down. It started pouring rain at about 3pm and didn't stop until about 8pm. The sidewalks were practically void of trick or treaters.
We went to our ward trunk or treat at 4pm which was moved inside because of the rain. The kids walked from classroom to classroom.
Kylynne wasn't sure what she thought about it at first but it didn't take long for her to figure it out and when she did if someone in front of her in line stopped or even slowed down she would push them forward and say "move". She dug right in to each bowl like she wasn't ever going to see candy again. Since the rain was not letting up even a bit, we went to my parents house to wait it out. I think there were only about a dozen or so knocks on their door. When the rain finally stopped it was late and time for the chungies to get to bed... they didn't mind though, they had eaten all the candy they wanted :0)

I really lucked out this year, the kids all wanted to wear costumes that we already had. Kylynne would not stand up she kept doing this funny slouchy thing.

The best part of the night... reading stories with Grammy!

Stewart falls and Timpanogos Cave

A couple of weeks ago the Naylors (Casey's sisters family)came down from Ogden and spent the weekend with us. Two days back to back we hiked. The first day we hiked Stewart falls which is 4 miles round trip and then the second day we hiked timp cave which is just under 3 miles round trip (I think). The kids were such troopers and all walked the whole way, except for baby, but she did walk a lot. The weather was perfect and the scenery was beautiful with fall in full swing. It felt so good to be outdoors in the fresh air spending time together as a family. I didn't realize how much I missed Utah until we got back. You can't beat the views from the mountains no matter how beautiful the beach is :o)

Yay, we made it!
