Pumpkin patch and Halloween

I know, I know... Two posts in one week, or one month for that matter!

So we did the traditional pumpkin patch which was a lot of fun and everything was free, BONUS! There was a pumpkin carving contest, games, pumpkins and free krispie kreme donuts. In case you weren't sure... I LOVE everything about the fall in Utah, even the way it smells outside, so BEAUTIFUL!

This year Halloween didn't really feel like Halloween. All the events leading up to it were awesome! But Halloween night was a little bit of a let down. It started pouring rain at about 3pm and didn't stop until about 8pm. The sidewalks were practically void of trick or treaters.
We went to our ward trunk or treat at 4pm which was moved inside because of the rain. The kids walked from classroom to classroom.
Kylynne wasn't sure what she thought about it at first but it didn't take long for her to figure it out and when she did if someone in front of her in line stopped or even slowed down she would push them forward and say "move". She dug right in to each bowl like she wasn't ever going to see candy again. Since the rain was not letting up even a bit, we went to my parents house to wait it out. I think there were only about a dozen or so knocks on their door. When the rain finally stopped it was late and time for the chungies to get to bed... they didn't mind though, they had eaten all the candy they wanted :0)

I really lucked out this year, the kids all wanted to wear costumes that we already had. Kylynne would not stand up she kept doing this funny slouchy thing.

The best part of the night... reading stories with Grammy!

Stewart falls and Timpanogos Cave

A couple of weeks ago the Naylors (Casey's sisters family)came down from Ogden and spent the weekend with us. Two days back to back we hiked. The first day we hiked Stewart falls which is 4 miles round trip and then the second day we hiked timp cave which is just under 3 miles round trip (I think). The kids were such troopers and all walked the whole way, except for baby, but she did walk a lot. The weather was perfect and the scenery was beautiful with fall in full swing. It felt so good to be outdoors in the fresh air spending time together as a family. I didn't realize how much I missed Utah until we got back. You can't beat the views from the mountains no matter how beautiful the beach is :o)

Hiking to Stewart Falls (I can't remember why Mia was mad)

The leaves were beautiful and the cheeks were kissable!!

Yay, we made it!

Utah

So it's official. We have now moved to Utah which most of you probably know. It's been a crazy leap of faith for us. Hopefully I can keep it together while my better half is working hard in California until he can find a job here in Utah.
Maxwell starts school on wednesday (which is what brought the kids and I here without Casey in the first place) and he is having a little anxiety about it. It's been the hardest for him I think and it makes me sad.
I haven't been the most patient or loving mom doing it all on my own and I feel bad about that too. It's hard cutting myself some slack when I feel so guilty about losing my patience with the children.
I just hope they're not scarred for life from this whole experience. All I can do is my best and sometimes I worry that's not enough.

For now it is what it is, there's no changing that. So thanks to all of our friends and family who have helped us, supported us and prayed for us. We feel your love and encouragement and know that through our faith in the Savior Jesus Christ we will pull through this stronger, better people.

Lazy days of summer...

It's been so cloudy and cool for the last week so when the kiddo's woke up this morning and looked outside they yelled "oh my gosh, it's a sunny day" and immediately ran out in their pj's to ride their bikes. After playing in the hot sun for a little while they were all sticky and sweaty so I put the sprinkler on and grass and they had a blast!

Fathers and sons camp out

Maxwell loves any and all things that include his Daddy. Now that school is out he is constantly asking when Daddy is going to be home and why Daddy has to work so much. He wants to be by his side all the time. They had a blast at the father and son camp out. They got to shoot guns, play cards, eat yummy food and of course stay up late and get up way to early. Uncle Dave and cousin Caleb and Jacob came out to go with them and Uncle Brandon and cousin Hudson came too!

Uno anyone?

Maxwell and Caleb have turned into a couple of show offs. They are always making funny faces and comments about how they are "looking good" as they bob their head in a cocky manner. Two peas in a pod these two... check out those muscles!

My two best Babes!
